A national research firm that works with colleges just released a new survey of high achieving seniors and the college selection process. High achieving seniors were defined as those that scored 1150 or greater on the critical reading and math sections of the SAT. This is equivalent to a 25 or higher on the ACT.
The survey revealed that 27% of these high achieving students used a private college consultant to help them find the best college for their needs. The last time any study looked at this issue the percentage was around 20%.
I have discussed before why there are advantages to using a private college admissions consultant. The trick is to find a good, ethical college admissions consultant with prices consistent with the services offered.
With 27% of students now using a private college consultant, maybe it is time to think about the advantages of hiring one to help you find the best college for your needs.
