I just found out about a new BS/MD program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Known as the JABSOM Scholars: A Doctor of Medicine Early Acceptance Program, the medical training will occur at the John A. Burns School of Medicine.
The program starts as a pilot program in Fall 2012 and they will accept up to 10 students per year. Applications are being accepted until January 5, 2012. To be eligible students must meet the following criteria:
- Be a resident of the state of Hawaii
- Minimum GPA of 3.8
- SAT score over 1,800 or ACT score over 27
- Have AP credits
- Demonstrate a broad pattern of interests and community engagement.

Hi, I’m Kaleb. I am doing some prior research for becoming a doctor. This program sounds interesting. Is it out-dated? I was curious because of the application dates.
Thanks,
Kaleb

Kaleb.
This is a current program but the article was written a month before the deadline for that year. I wanted to make sure that any interested student was aware of the upcoming deadline.
