Nebraska residents have another option for a BS/MD program at Chadron State College. The Rural Health Opportunities Program is associated with the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
The purpose of this program is to educate students from rural Nebraska who wish to return to practice medicine in rural Nebraska. The selection guidelines do not specify what academic background they are looking for in a student other than those that “demonstrate strong academic potential.”
Three to five applicants will be selected for the program while another three to five students will be selected as alternates.
If you live in rural Nebraska and wish to attend medical school, this may be a good option.
