I often see reference made to the University of Kentucky BS/MD program. While the University refers to the program as a BS/MD program it is not really such. Why do I say that?
Although students are accepted into the BS/MD program from high school, the website for the program makes it clear that there is no guaranteed admittance to the medical school just because a student is in the program.
In fact, even if a student complies with all the requirements of the program while in college including “exceptional performance” on the MCAT, the best the University will say is that the student will be very competitive for admission to the medical school.
I am trying to get further information about the actual acceptance rates into the medical school from the program but until I have some further information, this comes under the category of an interesting program but not quite a BS/MD program.

It is not a guranteed BS/MD program and I was told the acceptance rate is about 89%

Rujul,
Thanks for the note. You are correct that it is not a BS/MD program, but given the high acceptance rate into the medical school, it appears to come under the same category as St. Louis Universities program which typical has about a 95% acceptance rate for students in the program.
