Bloomberg has an article today about a number of highly selective colleges that are planning to increase their enrollments.
I have reported on some of these enrollment increases in the past but this article is a good synopsis of the various highly selective colleges that are increasing enrollments. The one I took particular note of was Amherst that had previously disclosed their intent to add 80 students by 2012. Amherst has revised that goal and now intends to add 180 students as part of their expansion. That increase is more than 10% of the current number of students at Amherst.
While the number of increased students at these highly selective colleges is small, it is nice to know that some additional students will have the option of enrolling at one of these colleges.
