If you are applying to BS/MD programs my job as a counselor is to help you become the strongest possible candidate. But there are two things that you must have before I can help you become a successful candidate.
You must have passion and compassion.
You must have the passion to be a physician. There are several ways that you can show this passion. You show this passion through doctor shadowing. You show this passion by volunteering at health care facilities. You show this passion through your essays. Your entire application must communicate this passion.
You also must have the compassion to be a caring physician. You show compassion with all of your volunteer activities. You show compassion by communicating in your essays and the interview that you are someone who cares.
If you have passion and compassion I can help you communicate that in your applications to the BS/MD programs. But if you don’t have the passion to be a physician and the compassion to care, you will not be a successful BS/MD candidate.
How are you going to show your passion and compassion?
