We are lucky enough to get to travel and visit amazing colleges and universities all across the country, meeting with students, professors and admission representatives so we can continue to bring that knowledge back here and share it with you.
And we’re back, excited to announced the July College of the Month is…Lewis and Clark College in Portland Oregon!
First off, let’s talk location. Lewis and Clark has it in spades. The campus is beautiful. Sincerely beautiful. Replete with forested trails, you literally cross a ravine to get to class. And don’t forget for all it’s natural beauty Lewis and Clark is still located in uber-hip Portland with endless opportunities for internships, entertainment and adventure.
Getting just a tiny bit further afield opens up a world of outdoor excursion possibilities for students making this a great place to tap into your inner outdoorsy kid.
Academically, Lewis and Clark is a standout in all things global. There is a large emphasis on the concept of Lewis and Clark students as a part of our global community. This is reflected through the wide variety of study abroad experiences and and a dedicated commitment to broadening their global nature at home through strong international student recruitment.
Another aspect that is appealing to a variety of students is Lewis and Clark’s test optional portfolio admission opportunity. If you are a strong dedicated student whose test scores fail to reflect your strengths this can serve as a great option. Instead of submitting standardized test scores prospective students can provide a comprehensive academic portfolio that serves to demonstrate their intellectual curiosity and preparation for college.
I could go on about my visit to this little educational gem in the Pacific Northwest but I don’t want to take all of the fun of exploration away so go ahead ‘put a bird on it’ and check out Lewis and Clark this summer.
